National Talent Search Examination is a scholarship examination conducted in 2 stages and for the year 2015-16, the first stage of examination was conducted on November 7 & 8, 2015 by respective State Governments & Union Territory administration with the help of Liasion officers appointed by National Council for Education Training & Research.
For the last year the result of Second Stage was declared on September 11, 2015 and the exam was conducted on May 10, 2015. For the result of Stage 1 candidates are required to keep an eye on local newspapers or website of their state’s SCERT. They can also get in touch with the Liasion officer of their respective state and have information related to the expected date of result declaration OR candidates can keep an eye on this page.
The result of NTSE Stage 1 examination will be declared individually by the States and Union Territories as per their own schedule. The notification for NTSE Stage 2 has already been released by NCERT and as per that notification the second stage examination will be on May 08, 2016 and hence the result will be declared prior to that. If we have a look at NTSE, it is a 2 stage examination where the stage one examination is the responsibility of States & Union Territories while stage 2 is managed entirely by NCERT.
The answer keys of Stage 1 NTSE exam are presently being rolled out of respective states in order to bring transparency in the whole process. The students who will be selected for appearing in stage 2 are not required to make any application or deposit any application fee etc. the shortlisted students from all states will be automatically considered for the Stage 2 examination of National Talent Search Examination.
From the present academic session i.e. 2015-16, 2000 students qualifying the second stage examination will be considered eligible for the award of the scholarship. These students will get scholarship worth Rs. 1250 per month during their Class 11 & 12, Rs. 2000 per month during their Graduate & Masters studies and during Doctoral studies the amount of scholarship will be as per the norms of University Grant Commission.
Indian students residing in other countries are also eligible to appear in NTS Examination but they will appear straight in the Stage 2 examination, application forms for NRI candidates are available on National Council for Education, Training and Research. The last date for the submission of completed application form is February 29, 2016.
