Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance examination conducted by CBSE for admission to various engineering colleges in India and is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging undergraduate entrance examination. JEE participating colleges include 31 NITs & 23 IITs for admission. It is constituted by two different examinations, namely JEE Mains and Advance. The selection criteria for NITs & IITs includes JEE Mains followed by JEE Advance examination.
The NITs are the leading public engineering institutes, ranked after IITs in India. The NIT was started in 1959 as REC and later in 2003 got its name as NIT.
NITs offer degree courses at bachelors, masters, and doctorate levels in various branches of engineering, architecture, management and science. Admission to the UG courses such as B.Tech. and B.Arch programs in NITs are through JEE (mains) examination.
These institutes are helped financially by government funding which results in high-quality education and other facilities which result in the overall development of students, at a fraction of cost. So studying in NITs is like a dream come true.
